AMPAC Festival
Aotea Maori Performing Arts Committee hold the Aotea Regional Festival bi-annually at least 6 months prior to Te Matatini Festival.
The competition is about supporting the development of traditional Maori performing arts within the region and in particular those aspects that are indigenous and unique to the Aotea region.

AMPAC Festival 2010 was held on Saturday, 8 May 2010 at the Springvale Stadium, Whanganui and hosted by Te Reanga Morehu o Ratana.
This year AMPAC attracted entries from nine teams, resulting in the top three teams going on to represent the Aotea region at the Te Matatini Festival being held in Gisborne, February 2011.
